Morning Hot Reads: Gap Year

The AP notes the UAB football program, which in '14 was "shut down for lack of financial support," is coming back "bigger and better, only the wins are coming on the balance sheet instead of the field." A new football facility and covered field are beginning to "take shape," and a new stadium in the next few years "seems like a distinct possibility." 

The DALLAS MORNING NEWS reports Baltimore-based developer Cordish Cos. has "staked its reputation on glitzy, LED-infused entertainment districts that breathe new life into formerly desolate downtown areas," including Louisville and K.C. But Arlington, where there is "no dilapidated downtown ripe for a comeback," is a different ballgame.
