Laugh Track: Trump Cards

NBC’s Jimmy Fallon said of Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump receiving the endorsements of legendary coaches Bob Knight and Lou Holtz, “If you are wondering how Donald Trump will defeat ISIS, it is by challenging them to a college sporting event in 1985.” Fallon said of Cavaliers F LeBron James reportedly starring in a “Space Jam 2” film, “It will feature LeBron playing with a bunch of make-believe teammates, or as LeBron calls them, ‘teammates.’” Fallon said of a 100-year-old woman breaking the record for her age group in the 100-meter dash, “They say she is the oldest person to enter a race since Bernie Sanders” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 5/3).

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel said of Trump campaigning in Indiana, “Indiana is a basketball state. He was worried that if he spent too much time there, people might grab his orange head and try to dribble it” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 5/3).

CBS’ Stephen Colbert bragged about going to this year’s Met Gala, an annual celebrity fundraising event in New York City, and said, “But in our defense, the Met Gala is all for charity and I hope they raised enough money so Mr. Met can finally get the cranial surgery he so desperately needs” (“The Late Show,” CBS, 5/3).

Comedian Adam Corolla appeared on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and said, “I used to like sports. I am done with Los Angeles and sports. First off, the Dodgers. Does anyone know what the Dodgers' record is right now? 13-13. … They’re exactly where they were before the season even started. … It’s the boringest sport in the world, and I thought to myself, the only way the Dodgers are getting me back to the ballpark … (is) to institute the divorce cam (instead of a kiss cam).” Corolla: “A lot of these (people) insist on proposing at the ballpark. … Fine, you can do that, but seven years later when you get divorced, you have to come back to the stadium” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 5/3).
