Florida State Upgrading Wireless Capabilities At Doak Campbell Stadium

Florida State has committed to improving its wireless connections throughout Doak Campbell Stadium in a deal with its multimedia rights partner, IMG College. Two vendors brought on board by IMG College – Extreme Networks and DAS Group Professionals – are working with FSU to improve both the cell connection and to install Wi-Fi in the stadium. DGP specializes in providing distributed antenna systems to large venues like the 82,300-seat stadium at FSU. DGP also implemented the DAS for Levi’s Stadium.

Extreme Networks will work with the school on Wi-Fi access for all fans in the venue. The improved DAS for cell traffic and Wi-Fi for data is intended to bolster the stadium’s technology infrastructure and to support the ever-increasing data demands, while providing more opportunities to deliver content. “We want to deliver a cutting-edge game-day experience to our students, alumni, boosters and fans,” said Florida State AD Stan Wilcox.
