Laugh Track....How Does Your Garden Grow?

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel said, “A lot of NBA superstars will get these big commercial endorsement deals with Nike and Gatorade, but the guys who aren’t superstars can get them too. This is an ad for a local restaurant, a chain in Ohio called the Brew Garden, that features the endorsing gifts of Cleveland Cavaliers center Timofey Mozgov.” The broadcast aired the Brew Garden commercial featuring Mozgov, who tosses a plate of food off the table and says in his thick Russian accent, “Get this weak stuff out of here. I’m hungry for the Brew Garden. Famous food, fine spirits, fantastic people. My home away from home. The Brew Garden.” Kimmel said, “Makes you appreciate Peyton Manning in those Papa John’s commercials, doesn’t it?” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 6/16).

Last night’s edition of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” sent comedian Hannibal Buress to the NBA Finals to document his experience getting to his nosebleed seats. Buress said, “If you would have let me know about this, I could have just bought tickets in the parking lot” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 6/16).

Last night’s edition of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night” featured a “serious” segment, where Kimmel “teamed up with a group of current and former NBA players to shine a light on one of – I think – the most pernicious and underaddressed problems” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night,” ABC, 6/16).

NBC’s Jimmy Fallon said, “I want to say congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks, who defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning last night to win the Stanley Cup, although there was some controversy when the Blackhawks' parents revealed that they’re white hawks that are pretending to be black” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 6/16).
