ESPN To Renew Deal To Televise Pro Football HOF Enshrinement
ESPN this week is expected to announce that it "has signed a new seven-year deal to televise" the Pro Football HOF's annual induction ceremony through '20, "the league’s 100th anniversary season." ESPN Senior VP/Programming Acquisitions Burke Magnus said that the net is "paying the hall a rights fee for the coverage." As of '12, the HOF "had no TV income." ESPN shares the ceremony coverage with NFL Network, "which renewed its deal for the enshrinement program last year" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 7/28 issue).
