Rams Expect Added Interest When Introducing Michael Sam Today

The Rams "plan on business as usual at this summer's training camp, but are making allowances" today when they introduce their draft picks, including DE Michael Sam. Rams GM Les Snead "expects a media crush and intense interest" in Sam. Snead on Monday said, "We spent yesterday talking about that. ... We definitely got to be aware that Michael Sam and the social impact of the pick needs a special place. We'll prepare for that. We'll handle it" (REUTERS, 5/12).

Snead: "After (Tuesday), you do nothing different. We've already talked to Michael and his people and told him he's here to play football. If the major networks, Good Morning America, the Today Show or CNN come calling, guess what? You're not doing that" (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 5/13).
