Bob Costas, Chris Paul Pay Respects To Jay Leno On "Tonight Show"

NBC’s Jay Leno signed off from “The Tonight Show,” calling it “the greatest 22 years of my life.” Leno invited Billy Crystal, “his original first guest, to be his final and only guest," and Garth Brooks to be his final musical act. The show featurd cameos that included NBC’s Bob Costas and Clippers G Chris Paul (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 2/7).

Costas said in the "What's Next For Jay?" segment: "You know Jay, I was once the host of late-night show myself, Emmy Award-winning, critically acclaimed. But there came a time when I was replaced by a younger guy, that no-talent Greg Kinnear. You know what, you have to learn to deal with it. Hello, doctor." At this point, Costas took a big sip from a bottle of Jack Daniel's and said, "You're going to be fine, Jay." Paul appeared in Crystal's musical tribute, dubbed "So Long, Farewell" set to "The Sound of Music." Paul sang, "So long, farewell, you've won the late-night race. But I don't care, the Clips are in first place!" (NBC, 2/6).
