Int'l Champions Cup Features Eight Prominent European Clubs

The lineup of the '14 Guinness Int'l Champions Cup will be formally announced today at Sun Life Stadium, and the annual soccer event boasts "quite a collection of high-profile" clubs: Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Liverpool, AS Roma and Olympiacos. The host cities and format for the July 26-Aug. 4 series also will be announced. General public tickets for the final at Sun Life Stadium go on sale at 10:00am ET Thursday (MIAMI HERALD, 2/4).

Some details have already leaked. Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium will host a Manchester City-Liverpool match on Aug. 2 (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 2/3). AC Milan and Manchester City are expected to play a July 27 match at Heinz Field. A source said that the game "will be held with the Steelers' cooperation" (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 2/3).
