Dolphins-Bills Will Be Second Game Blacked Out This NFL Season

The Bills yesterday afternoon announced that, as expected, Sunday's home game against the Dolphins "did not sell out and thus will be blacked out on local television." This is the "first blackout of the season for the Bills, and only the second in the NFL this year" after the Dec. 1 Bengals-Chargers game. The Bills as of Wednesday had a reported 16,000 tickets remaining for the contest, representing more than 20% of Ralph Wilson Stadium's capacity (BUFFALO NEWS, 12/20).

NBC’s Jay Leno said, “The Chargers' home game Sunday against the Oakland Raiders could be blacked out in San Diego if they don't sell enough tickets. Now don't confuse it with the Dallas Cowboys. They don't have a blackout until the fourth quarter, that doesn't happen till later” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 12/19).
