WNBA Finals Game 3 Draws Crowd Of 5,040 As Lynx Sweep Dream

The series-clinching Lynx-Dream WNBA Finals Game 3 drew 5,040 fans to Gwinnett Center last night. The Dream, who were forced to move from Philips Arena to Gwinnett for the WNBA Finals because the club’s normal home was already hosting Disney on Ice, averaged 5,853 during the regular season. Games 1 and 2 drew 13,804 and 12,313 fans, respectively, to Target Center (THE DAILY).

The Lynx won their second championship in three years, with G Maya Moore winning MVP. Both the Minneapolis Star Tribune and St. Paul Pioneer Press go with Lynx stories above the fold on the front page. The Star Tribune's Kent Youngblood writes, "Let the dynasty talk begin." The Pioneer Press' Tim Leighton writes under the header, "Minnesota Lynx Return To WNBA Throne With Sweep Through Postseason." The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Doug Roberson writes under the header, "Dream Swept By Maya Moore, Minnesota."
