Tim Finchem Says PGA Tour Working On Extension With Bridgestone
The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational gets underway today at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, and PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem said that the Tour is "working on an extension with Bridgestone Corp." to remain title sponsor of the event. The current four-year agreement runs through '14. Finchem said, "We are eager to get it done. Whether we have something to say about it this week, I'm not sure" (OHIO.com, 7/31).
Meanwhile, Finchem announced that the '15 Presidents Cup will be played at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon, South Korea, “marking the second time in a row that a course designed” by Nicklaus will host the competition. This year’s event will be held at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio (AP, 7/31).
