USA Today Sports Media Group Launches New Site For The Win

USA Today Sports Media Group today is starting For The Win, a new website dedicated to social media-oriented sports news. Located at ftw.usatoday.com, the site features content that is or likely soon will be widely discussed on social media channels. For The Win will be led by USA Today Sports Media Group Dir of Content Development Jamie Mottram and VP/Content Mark Pesavento, with significant contributions from Dir of Audience Development Dan Shanoff. An eight-person editorial team has been hired to operate For The Win, and Mike Foss will serve as Editor. Right Guard has signed on as exclusive launch partner (Eric Fisher, Staff Writer).

The site "finds and reports the intriguing, offbeat and awe-inspiring stories that resonate and tells them in ways that engage people and make it easy to share." There will be "buzzy stories, engaging visuals, original reporting and smart aggregation" (USA TODAY, 4/22).

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown.
