The NFL and NFLPA are holding talks to reset the league's calendar, as the NFL reportedly "tries to achieve its stated goal of establishing a year-long continuum." One proposal would have the Scouting Combine held in March, free agency start in April and the draft happen in May (NFL.com, 3/27).

Cavaliers Owner Dan Gilbert today is expected to unveil "a plan that envisions recasting" Detroit's downtown "as a pedestrian paradise, with plazas, outdoor cafes and retail activity spilling onto the streets." Gilbert owns more than 16 properties in Detroit's commercial corridor (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 3/28).

The Triple-A Int'l League Charlotte Knights signed a multiyear agreement for Chick-fil-A to sponsor both foul poles. The agreement will begin this season, the team's last at Knights Stadium, and include the first several seasons in the team's downtown ballpark (Knights).
