Penguins Draw Record Crowd For Home Opener Against Maple Leafs
A Consol Energy Center-record crowd of 18,641 last night attended the Penguins' home opener against the Maple Leafs. The Penguins offered free hot dogs to fans, a promotion "known to draw crowds in the thousands regardless of the elements" (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 1/24). The game was the Penguins' 255th consecutive sellout (THE DAILY).
Meanwhile, Consol Energy and the Penguins have launched Community All Stars, a program designed to showcase non-profit organizations and individuals that are making a difference in communities in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The organizations and people will be recognized as Community All Stars during every home game this season (Consol Energy).
