Blizzard In Detroit Hampers Little Caesars Pizza Bowl Attendance
Last night’s Little Caesars Pizza Bowl at Ford Field drew 23,310 fans on a “blizzard-type night” in Detroit for Central Michigan’s win over Western Kentucky (DETNEWS.com, 12/26). That attendance marks a record low for the bowl that began in ’97. The CMU-WKU matchup was down 50% from last year’s Purdue-Western Michigan matchup and 23% lower than the previous record low – set in ’09 for a game featuring Marshall-Ohio (30,311) (THE DAILY).
Central Michigan wore new adidas uniforms for the game that featured "'Central' on the front in large gold print above the numbers while 'Chippewas'" was displayed in gold lettering on the back (MLIVE.com, 12/26).
