CFL's 100th Grey Cup Draws Crowd Of 50,000-Plus In Toronto

The CFL's 100th Grey Cup drew a crowd of 53,208 to Rogers Centre yesterday for the Toronto Argonauts' win over the Calgary Stampeders. Not since the '10 Bears-Bills game drew more than 50,000 fans "had this many been assembled to watch football" at the venue (TORONTO STAR, 11/26). The CFL, in an "attempt to create a new tradition," invited fans to "join a parade and take turns carrying the cup" from Univ. of Toronto's Varsity Stadium to Rogers Centre. CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon started the relay, and about 300 fans participated (GLOBE & MAIL, 11/26).
