Indian Wells Expected To Extend Naming Rights With Tennis Venue
The Indian Wells City Council today is expected to vote to "extend for a decade the city's naming rights for the Indian Wells Tennis Garden" for $2.5M over the length of the deal. The naming rights contract is "one of three agreements the city has with the tourney." Interim City Manager Rod Wood said that the others are to "share marketing costs and lease inexpensive city-owned property." This comes after a "lean year" for the city that "included tax increases and layoffs" (Palm Springs DESERT SUN, 11/15).
