NHL, NHLPA Officials Today To Meet On Hockey-Related Revenue

NHL and NHLPA officials today will meet in Toronto, but “it will not be to resume labor negotiations.” The league and the union will meet to “get each side’s final approval on hockey-related revenue from the previous season.” It is possible the two sides could “come up with a schedule to resume their talks” for a new CBA. NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said on Saturday of the chance of CBA talks starting back up, “I guess we’ll have to see on Monday” (GLOBE & MAIL, 9/23).

A lengthy hearing before the Alberta Labour Relations Board “about the legality of the NHL lockout ended without a decision Friday night.” No decision is “expected until early next week” (ESPNNY.com, 9/21).
