NHL, NHLPA Expected To Hold Talks Ahead Of Player Meetings

About 300 NHL players and 29 members of the league's BOG will be in N.Y. today, and the two sides will meet "for the first time since late last week." With the CBA expiring Saturday, the NHLPA is expected to "present a revised offer of some sort to the league" (GLOBE & MAIL, 9/12). NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly in an email said that the league "spoke with the NHLPA several times" yesterday, adding that he expects owners "will meet with the NHLPA before player meetings begin" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 9/12). The sides have met "just six times over the last 3 weeks" (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 9/12).
