Consortium Led By Guggenheim Partners Buys Dick Clark Productions

A consortium of Guggenheim Partners, Mandalay Entertainment and Mosaic Media Investment Partners has closed on a deal to acquire Dick Clark Productions, and sources pegged the sales price at $370-385M. That is "more than double" what current owner RedZone Capital Management, which is controlled by Daniel Snyder, paid in '07. DCP CEO Mark Shapiro "had indicated from the start of the sales process that he would leave when a deal was complete." Shapiro "maintains close ties to Snyder" and said that he "has other projects in the works" with the Redskins Owner (L.A. TIMES, 9/5).
