Sources said that NASCAR driver Martin Truex Jr. has agreed to an extension to continue driving the Sprint Cup Series No. 56 Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing "with NAPA as his primary sponsor." A formal announcement is scheduled for Friday at Atlanta Motor Speedway (ESPN.com, 8/27).

The Glendale City Council yesterday directed staff to extend its arena management deal with the NHL "for another 30 days," giving Greg Jamison "more time to try to buy" the league-owned Coyotes (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 8/28).
