UFC On Fox 4 At Staples Center Delivers Solid Attendance, Live Gate

An announced crowd of 16,080 attended Saturday night's "UFC on Fox 4: Shogun vs. Vera" card at Staples Center. The venue had previously hosted UFC 60 in '06 and UFC 104 in '09, but Saturday night's event "was a new high-water mark for the UFC at Staples Center." UFC 60 and UFC 104, which were both PPV events, drew crowds of 14,802 and 14,892, respectively (MMAJUNKIE.com, 8/4).

The attendance put the event on par with UFC PPV events, although the live gate of $1.1M "would fall towards the lower end of that spectrum." Both figures are "considered successes for an event that is primed for network television" (MMAWEEKLY.com, 8/4).
