Nashville’s Metro Council and Sports Authority today will be briefed about proposed changes to the Predators subsidy “in which the city pays the Predators to operate Bridgestone Arena and gives it other incentives” (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 6/21).

UConn has “accepted an invitation to join the Hockey East Conference and become the league’s 12th member starting” with the '14-15 season (HARTFORD COURANT, 6/22).

The U.S. men's national soccer team will play an Aug. 15 friendly against Mexico at Azteca Stadium. The game marks "the first friendly in Mexico City between the regional powers in 28 years" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 6/21).

The Bengals next season will allow fans to leave Paul Brown Stadium "for a smoke break and come back in." The team will set up smoking areas outside four gates at the stadium (CINCINNATI.com, 6/21).
