Random House's Crown Archetype today announced that it has signed former Univ. of Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt to write "a memoir that is currently untitled." Summitt will collaborate with Washington Post columnist Sally Jenkins on the book, which is slated to be released in spring 2013 (AP, 4/24).

Michael Shank Racing has filed an entry for Jay Howard to drive in the Indianapolis 500. The team, which earlier this year won the Rolex 24 at Daytona, will make its IndyCar debut at the May 27 race. Team owner Michael Shank said that he has chosen to enter Indy without an engine program "in place to demonstrate how serious he is about joining the series" (SPEEDTV.com, 4/23).

A number of foxes have snuck into the London Games' temporary shooting venue and "chewed cables, wrecked microphones and soiled the podium area" at the Royal Artillery Barracks. LOCOG's Peter Underhill: "The place is inundated with them up here" (BBC.co.uk, 4/23).

Youth sports automation platform Korrio today announced that it has signed former U.S. women's national soccer team MF Kristine Lilly as an endorser (Korrio).
