The first of two public viewings for late Penn State football coach Joe Paterno begins today, and the school is "preparing for the tens of thousands of mourners expected" to pay their respects (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 1/24).

Michele Tafoya, who has "split her duties between afternoons on WCCO Radio and weekend sports reporting for NBC-TV," is stepping down from her post at the Minnesota-based AM station, effective Friday afternoon (STARTRIBUNE.com, 1/23).
