Glazers Delay Plan To Float ManU Stock On Singapore Exchange

The Glazer family's plan to raise US$938M from a partial flotation of EPL club Manchester United on the Singapore Stock Exchange this year "could be delayed until midway through next year because of the continuing volatility of global financial markets." ManU's exit from the UEFA Champions League to play "less lucrative" Europa League competition is understood "to be an issue which could deter investors."

While analysts predict the Singapore market "will not be badly affected by economic uncertainties in 2012," the likelihood of the float being initiated early next year "is understood to be dependent on an upturn in the markets" (London TELEGRAPH, 12/20).
