Nets Set To Unveil Special Logo For 35th Season In New Jersey

The Nets as early as today "will unveil a special logo" to coincide with the announcement of their '11-12 season schedule. The logo recognizes the team's 35-year history in New Jersey before their impending move to Brooklyn. It features a "tri-color basketball with the Nets name written in 1970’s era script, an homage to the team’s ABA past," with the number 35 in the middle. Below are the years '77 and '12, with a "tiny outline of the state is at the bottom in white." The team "got league approval to put the logo on the players' uniforms." It will also be on the court at Prudential Center and on merchandise (NYTIMES.com, 12/6).
