Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway is "looking to hire about 1,000 full-time employees for the casino," which is slated to open next February. The casino says it is "the nation's first track-side casino at a speedway" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 10/5).

Bruins players received their Stanley Cup championship rings last night at a private dinner at the Boston Harbor Hotel. The rings, made by Jostens, feature a total of 302 diamonds and are “made of 14-carat white gold and feature six large diamonds on the ‘B’ crest on top” (BOSTON HERALD, 10/5).
