Night Football Game At Michigan Stadium Sets Attendance Record
An NCAA record crowd of 114,804 attended Saturday night's Notre Dame-Michigan football game, the first-ever night game at Michigan Stadium. University police arrested 14 people during the game, "but officers were mostly pleased with the behavior of the crowd." The number of arrests inside the stadium was "generally in line with a normal football game" (ANNARBOR.com, 9/11). This was the "fourth time a Notre Dame-Michigan contest set a new NCAA attendance mark." The teams set records in '93, '99 and '03, "all at Michigan" (NDSMCOBSERVER.com, 9/12).
