Attorneys On Both Sides Meet This Morning For NFL Labor Talks

Attorneys and staff for both sides in the NFL labor dispute will hold meetings this morning after a five-hour joint session yesterday. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, NFLPA Exec Dir DeMaurice Smith and other players and owners will be "in contact via conference call" before returning to N.Y. for "face-to-face sessions" tomorrow. The league's "objective is to have a completed proposal to present to the owners for a vote at their meeting in Atlanta on July 21," but there is "plenty of work to be done to achieve that." The rookie salary system is "primary among the sticking points" (NFL.com, 7/11).
