Sprint Cup Testing Starts Today At Daytona In Wake Of Repaving

Testing for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams begins today at Daytona Int'l Speedway in the wake of the $20M offseason repaving project "measuring 1.4 million square feet of the speedway" (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 1/20). NASCAR "will allow Sprint Cup teams three days of testing" (Daytona Beach NEWS-JOURNAL, 1/20). 

In conjunction with Daytona's "first NASCAR preseason test since 2008," the Preseason Thunder Fan Fest gets underway today. The event will give fans access to the track's Sprint Fanzone area "that splits the Sprint Cup garage" (NEWS-JOURNALONLINE.com, 1/20). The $20 admittance fee "will be waived" for anyone who buys a Daytona 500 ticket (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 1/20).
