Rapsodo releases new mobile launch monitor for golf after debut at PGA show in Orlando

Rapsodo has upgraded its mobile launch monitor to a dual-camera device that also features radar processing, the MLM2PRO, the became available for pre-orders this month after debuting at the recent PGA Show in Orlando. The MLM2PRO also lets golfers either hit shots on a virtual driving range, even when hitting indoors, or remotely play one of 30,000 international courses.

The original mobile launch monitor was a radar that docked with an iOS camera for ball flight data, but the new MLM2PRO hardware has two built-in cameras: one wide-angle Shot Vision lens to record the swing and shot trace, and also a 240-frames-per-second Impact Vision camera to provide a detailed look at how the club is meeting the ball. Users can still sync their smartphone — now either Android or iOS — to get a different vantage point of the swing.

Additionally, Rapsodo has partnered with Callaway to enhance the accuracy of indoor tracking. Using Rapsodo Precision Technology and Callaway’s Chrome Soft X Golf Balls, golfers can receive spin data with a reported accuracy within 1% of higher-end launch monitors.
