NFL beer sponsor Anheuser-Busch is bringing gamified reverse vending machines to the Super Bowl for the first time as part of the company’s National Recycling League campaign to reduce waste across professional sports. Fans can visit the machine inside State Farm Stadium during Super Bowl LVI in Arizona to recycle their beverage cans and bottles to earn A-B's 20% off Shop Bear Geer code and enter a contest to win two tickets for 2023 NFL regular season games. One machine will be located at State Farm Stadium with another at the Scottsdale Resort’s McCormick Ranch.
Fans scan a QR code on the recycling machine’s screen to access the rewards after inserting their can or bottle into the machine, which was built by Miami-based startup Cycle Technology. Cycle’s machines have sensors to automatically reject contaminated beverage containers and they have previously been used by Inter Miami in MLS. Anheuser-Busch has partnered with Recycle Track Systems to offer the Cycle reverse-vending machines, which were also used this past NFL season in stadiums for the Broncos, Chiefs, Dolphins, Eagles, Giants, Jets, Panthers, Patriots, Ravens, and Seahawks.
