Mobile platform Buzzer signs new multiyear deals with NBA, WNBA

The new deal debuts tomorrow with the launch of NBA League Pass GamesBuzzer

Buzzer, the mobile platform for short-form live sports, has renewed multiyear partnerships with both the NBA and WNBA. Financial details were not disclosed. Buzzer, which launched in 2021, signed multiyear deals with both leagues last year, and the parties agreed to extend those deals. The new deal debuts tomorrow with the launch of NBA League Pass Games. Fans will still be able to watch live action movements through micropayments, but a new feature is Buzzer’s recently released credit system. Under that system, fans can earn or be gifted credits, and when they accumulate enough, can use them instead of micropayments. Fans can track teams as well as individual players. “These new deals are a testament to our ability to reach younger generation fans who prefer shorter-form content and tend to be more player-centric,” Buzzer founder & CEO Bo Han told SBJ. “Renewing with both the NBA and WNBA reaffirms the leagues' trust in us and the innovative approach we have to reach younger fans. It also reinforces our commitment to amplifying and democratizing access to women’s sports.”
