Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon said he plans to put the "biggest" sportsbook inside PNC Arena once sports betting is legalized in North Carolina. Dundon said the book is "going to be ridiculous" while also noting legalizing betting in the state is "moving in the right direction." Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are hosting the Capitals in an outdoor game in February at NC State's Carter-Finley Stadium, and Dundon noted the team has gotten "thousands more" tickets back from the NHL due to the high demand. At this point, the NHL has given "every last one they could to us" as it relates to tickets. Dundon said the Hurricanes have the "ability to add some seats" if there is a need (“The OG,” WCMC-FM, 10/12). Previous reports had the Hurricanes receiving 30,000 tickets for the game, which will have an expected capacity of more than 51,000 (SBJ).
