Vivint Arena sees video board, seating upgrades ahead of Jazz season opener

Vivint Arena has "undergone a number of changes" over the summer, and construction is "nearing completion" as the Jazz prepare for their regular season opener on Oct. 19, according to Andy Larsen of the SALT LAKE TRIBUNE. All of the in-arena video boards, including the video boards hanging in the center of the arena facing all four sides, have been "upgraded with either bigger screens or with screens with higher resolution." The arena has added "corner video boards connecting the four sides of the center-hung main screens." The video rings circling the arena bowl also have been "more substantially upgraded." Perhaps the biggest change is "more than doubling the size of the upper-bowl corner video screens, from 10-by-37 feet to 10-by-80 feet." New this season are "upper-bowl luxury seating areas," which the team is calling “premium lofts.” They have "removed hundreds of normal seats" to "create these premium suites -- some of which will have room for six people, others with room for 10 people" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 10/11).
