Rival launches Chompions League, an online gaming community for Browns

The Chompions League is for Browns fans and gamers, and it hosts its first tournament next TuesdayRival/Browns

Fan engagement platform Rival has launched an online gaming community with its third NFL partner, the Browns. The Chompions League is for Browns fans and gamers, and it hosts its first tournament on Oct. 18 with a Madden NFL 23 event for PlayStation 5 and Xbox One. Rival executed this deal without outside agencies. Despite being a Tuesday, the Chompions League has no affiliation with Enthusiast Gaming and the NFL’s Tuesday Night Gaming promotion. With this partnership, the Browns join the Lions and Seahawks with Rival-powered gaming communities for their fans. The idea here is to engage with NFL fans who play video games by creating an online channel outside of social media platforms like Twitter or YouTube. As one of the partnership’s activations, the first tournament’s prizes include a signed jersey from Browns DE and noted gamer Myles Garrett. Rival and the Browns will also consider hosting in-person tournaments and other interactive events but not tabletop games. Rival now has a stable of over 40 pro sports partners, including the NBA, NHL, MLS and Premier League. Earlier this year, it launched communities for the NBA 2K League and Liverpool.
