People & Personalities: Lee Corso feeling 'much better' after 'Gameday' absence

ESPN's "College Gameday" host Rece Davis "provided an update on the status" of analyst Lee Corso on Wednesday after he did not participate in Saturday’s show. Davis said that Corso was “feeling much better” and that he was "back home in Orlando." According to Davis, it appears that Corso “hopes to reunite with the crew this Saturday” as it travels to Lawrence for the first time ahead of a marquee matchup between an undefeated Kansas and TCU (SI, 10/5).

HARDWOOD TO BOOTH: In Charlotte, Roderick Boone wrote former NBAer George Lynch is "joining Bally Sports Southeast as a studio analyst" for Hornets broadcasts. He will “work alongside” returning host Ashley ShahAmadi, including on the "Hornets Live" pregame show, and is “expected to make his debut” during the team’s regular-season home opener against the Pelicans on Oct. 21. Bally Sports analysts Eric Collins and Dell Curry are “returning for its eighth season together” (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 10/4).

AND THE AWARD GOES TO: In Chicago, Daryl Schouwen notes White Sox broadcaster Steve Stone and Cubs announcer Pat Hughes are “among 10 nominees” for the Ford Frick Award for excellence in baseball broadcasting by the Baseball HOF. Joining Hughes and Stone among the finalists are Dave Campbell, Joe Castiglione, Gary Cohen, Jacques Doucet, Tom Hamilton, Jerry Howarth, Ernie Johnson Sr. and Duane Kuiper (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 10/5).

STAYING ON RADIO: SiriusXM announced that pro wrestling show "Busted Open" lead host Dave LaGreca has signed a new multiyear extension with the company. LaGreca launched Busted Open on SiriusXM in 2009 (SiriusXM).
