Browns, Aramark using new technology for faster service at concessions

The Browns and Aramark have “implemented technology at concessions stands that aims to get fans back to their seats as quickly as possible,” according to Marc Bona of the Cleveland PLAIN DEALER. The gameday-experience partnership is the result of a "multimillion-dollar investment over two years, 2022 to 2023." It involves "multiple areas throughout the stadium via refurbished stands that increase purchase times and open concourse flow.” The way to do that was to “convert ‘traditional belly-up stands’ that could open up space to avoid line congestion" but also serve to "get fans back to their seats to see the game they paid to watch.” Aramark GM Jessica Jacobson said that the concepts “debuted at the team’s home opener” Sunday against the Jets and that eight locations -- four in general concessions, four in club level -- were “converted from ‘traditional concessions to walk-in, market-style express locations.’” She added that front counters were “knocked out," and "walk-though spaces were created for fans to get their own products via self-checkout technology." The redesign also “allows more products to be added.” Jacobson: “It creates a more efficient experience for the fans as they check out, get them through the lines quicker, get them back to watching the game faster” (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 9/21).
