Indeed signs on to be eighth and final founding partner of UT's Moody Center

Indeed, the Austin-based job site, has finalized a long-term sponsorship with Moody Center at the Univ. of Texas, making the company the eighth and final founding partner for the arena that opens next month. OVG College’s Dan Shell and Jaclyn Sigmen closed the deal, which will provide Indeed with a 1,000-person club and significant TV-visible signage throughout Moody during UT basketball games. Terms of the deal were not available, but most of the higher-end founding partners have been spending in the low seven figures annually. The deal also represents a major step for Indeed, which typically spends big on major sporting events like the NCAA tournament but has been reluctant to jump into significant sponsorships. Being an Austin-based business with deep hiring ties to Texas helped propel the deal forward, said Indeed VP/Global Brand Marketing Jennifer Warren.

HELPING WITH HIRING PROCESS: Indeed, founded in '04, will have the designation of official hiring partner of Moody Center. The job site will play a major role in hiring the 650 full- and part-time positions that will be required for the new arena. The first job fair Indeed hosted at Moody Center using the hiring platform was Feb. 10. It was an in-person event, followed by weekly virtual events powered by Indeed's Virtual Hiring Platform. More than 250 people were hired as a result of these events. Several more events will follow as needed. “There is a lot to be excited about in terms of our product and our mission as a company,” Warren told SBJ. “Not all sponsorships come with that kind of synergy, but it was a really important component for us. ... What’s also exciting for us is being the official hiring partner is the ability to showcase our virtual hiring platform and its capabilities. As a company, we haven’t done a lot of sponsorships, but this is a really unique opportunity.” Shell, the president of OVG College, said, "When you talk about alignment, I’m not sure there could be a better example than this partnership.”
