Red Sox making push for All-Star Game to return to Boston

The Red Sox are “aggressively pushing" for the All-Star Game to come back to Boston in the coming years, and have "had discussions" with MLB about doing so, according to sources cited by Chris Cotillo of MASSLIVE.com. Two specific years -- ‘25 and ‘27 -- are “on the club’s radar.” Red Sox President & CEO Sam Kennedy said, “We are lobbying hard at the Major League Baseball level. I think we’re finally coming up in the rotation at some point here. 1999 was amazing. That was just an incredible night so we’d love to have the All-Star Game back.” MLB has “already named All-Star sites" for three upcoming editions. This year’s game "will be held" at Dodger Stadium while the ‘23 edition "will take place" at T-Mobile Park. Both ‘24 and ‘25 are "open" before Citizens Bank Park takes center stage in ‘26 to “commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence” (MASSLIVE.com, 3/15).
