Amazon and Disney are “looking to acquire the rights” to “NFL Sunday Ticket,” but CNBC’s Jabari Young said, “Don’t rule out DirecTV keeping that." Young: "They have the rights now and I just don't think that they want to let that go right away. They also have their streaming product that they rolled out as well so they’re trying to get in the game." NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell made it clear that direct-to-consumer will "be a part of the NFL’s media strategy" over this next decade and they are going to "lay the foundation" with this new "Sunday Ticket" package (“Worldwide Exchange,” CNBC, 2/11).

MYSTERY CALLER: In Birmingham, Mark Heim speculated that the father of embattled Auburn football coach Bryan Harsin could have been "Dale from Boise," who called in to "The Paul Finebaum Show" on Wednesday to "support and defend” the coach. The coach’s status has been a "matter of debate" for the past week. “Dale from Boise’s” appearance on Finebaum's show had "many people wondering" if he is actually Harsin’s father, Dale. So much so that it took off on social media and left Finebaum "questioning the same thing" (AL.com, 2/10).

BRING ON THE SLIME: GOLFWEEK’s Adam Woodard notes Nickelodeon "announced the Nickelodeon Slime Cup" on Thursday, a new golf special that will "feature the likes" of PGA Tour players Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm as well as the LPGA’s Lexi Thompson. Giants RB Saquon Barkley and Chargers QB Justin Herbert will “also be involved,” as well as actor Terry Crews and Nick stars. Players will be “split into four teams of three,” each with a professional golfer, a celebrity and a Nickelodeon star. The Nickelodeon Slime Cup will be a two-round event with “holes inspired by Nickelodeon shows” (GOLFWEEK.com, 2/10).
