WWE sets attendance, sales marks for Royal Rumble in St. Louis

WWE held its annual Royal Rumble at the Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis on Saturday, and the event drew some impressive financial results. The sellout crowd of 44,390 at the former home of the Rams marks the second-most-attended WWE event since the start of the pandemic, behind only SummerSlam at Allegiant Stadium last August. It also accounted for the second-highest gate in the 35-year history of the Royal Rumble. Meanwhile, Saturday night delivered a record amount of merchandise sales for a Rumble. Along with event-specific apparel, the best sellers came from Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey, who made her return to the WWE after a nearly three-year absence. Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, who made a surprise appearance at the event, also was one of the top sellers.
