The NFL's 49ers Leverage SAP Analytics to Teach Data Science to Youth

49ers EDU, the youth education arm of the San Francisco 49ers, has partnered with enterprise software company SAP to incorporate data science into the 49ers EDU curriculum, including use of SAP’s Executive Huddle operations platform—the 49ers’ gameday analytics suite.

SAP partnered with the 49ers to create Executive Huddle in 2018 as a tool to host the team’s venue management and communications at Levi’s Stadium. SAP provides its software and analytics tools to leagues such as the NHL, NBA, and WTA. 49ers EDU will use SAP’s Executive Huddle analytics suite to teach math vocabulary and digital concepts to tech-interested students.

“By partnering with 49ers EDU to design a curriculum that inspires exploration of data science and analytics, we hope to create opportunity for all learners – no matter their future career paths,” Max Wessel, Chief Learning Officer at SAP, said in a statement.

The 49ers separately announced a new partnership with cloud data storage platform Qumulo to optimize the team’s venue operations moving forward.
