NASCAR Joins Global Sports Venture Studio

NASCAR is the latest pro sports league to partner with Global Sports Venture Studio, the joint endeavor of R/GA Ventures and Elysian Park Ventures that seeks to develop new technologies to benefit athletes and fans. 

GSVS launched in 2018 with MLB, MLS, NHL and UEFA among its founding partners, with the USTA joining in April. Elysian Park is the venture arm of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ ownership group. One recent GSVS project was a collaboration with Verizon 5G Labs, UEFA and Uplift Labs to assess the biomechanics of LAFC players through markerless motion capture

SportTechie named NASCAR its Outstanding League of 2020 following its swift return to competition after the onset of the pandemic and its successful embrace of esports. NASCAR restructured its corporate office earlier this year, adding a strategy and innovation team.
