Fan Token Creator Socios Partners With New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils have formed a marketing partnership with fan rewards app Socios.com, marking the company’s first deal with a U.S. sports team. Socios branding will appear on virtual signage shown on MSG Network broadcasts of all Devils games for the rest of the season.

Socios.com announced plans in March to build a New York headquarters, as well as allocate $50 million to pursue partnerships in the five leading U.S. sports leagues. Socios is owned by Malta-based blockchain company Chilliz.

The Devils are the 26th sports organization to join Socios, which has made digital fan tokens for European soccer clubs such as FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and Juventus. Socios also made a fan token for the Professional Fighters League, with fan token holders able to vote for which fight headlined the league’s opening event in Atlantic City, N.J. last weekend.
