Athlete-owned media platform PlayersTV has formed a content partnership with Alumni Pros Global Sports, a company specializing in helping athletes monetize their name, image and likeness. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under the agreement, APGS will create and produce original content for PlayersTV and its social media channels. APGS was launched in January by former NBAer Jerome Williams and fund manager Robert Smith. One of the shows APGS has created for PlayersTV is a comedic, animated talk show with sports highlights, news, and interviews titled "What’s up with JYD," featuring Williams’ animated alter-ego. Another show, called "Ballers Garage," is a lifestyle show which gives viewers a glimpse into athletes' passions, including cars, shoes and music. PlayersTV was launched in '20 by a group of current and former athletes, including Carmelo Anthony, Vernon Davis, CJ McCollum, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard and Chris Paul.
