DraftKings' Stephanie Sherman: What I'm Bingeing On

Netflix's "The Playbook" series inspires Sherman in her profession, while the "Raising Good Humans" podcast does so in her life as a motherDRAFTKINGS

This week, DraftKings Senior VP/Marketing STEPHANIE SHERMAN joined SBJ to usher in Women's History Month by sharing what she's been bingeing on. Some responses have been edited for clarity and brevity.

  • Humor is an important vehicle when traversing sensitive subjects, and the "LAST DAY" podcast embraces this formula in its mission to "make the hard things a little easier." The show’s host, STEPHANIE WITTELS WACHS, tragically lost a brother to an accidental overdose, which underscores the tone of exploring difficult topics with levity. I find myself both learning and laughing.
  • I draw from the perspectives and practices of top coaches across various sports with "THE PLAYBOOK." An episode with South Carolina women's basketball coach DAWN STALEY shares her view on being female in a male-dominated sport, which parallels my own industry experiences. Inspiring and informative, this series showcases strong leadership.
  • Host DR. ALIZA PRESSMAN approaches parenting from a practical and academic sense on the "RAISING GOOD HUMANS" podcast, a show that is quite relatable, even when it brings on celebrity guest parents like JENNIFER GARNER. Although I have more or less adjusted to the fully-remote work model by now, there are always new challenges to being a mom with two kids.
  • "BETTY WHITE: FIRST LADY OF TELEVISION" chronicles the life and career of the actor, who was both entertaining and reminded me what an icon she still is today. The staying power and continued personal-brand relevancy of someone who began her television-acting career in the late 1930s is remarkable.
  • As much as I enjoy binge watching programs, I will end this list with a book: "ATOMIC HABITS" by JAMES CLEAR. Anyone looking for a daily framework to build good habits and break bad ones should check out the advice in these pages. Mastering even the smallest behavior changes can lead to major improvements personally and professionally.
