Jaguars Senior VP/Communications DAN EDWARDS is "assuming a new role" as Senior VP/Jacksonville Tradition & Alumni, after leading the franchise's communications staff since '94, according to John Reid of the FLORIDA TIMES-UNION. The move comes after AMY PALCIC was officially named VP/Football Communications and will "assume the senior PR role that Edwards previously held." Edwards will report to Jaguars President MARK LAMPING, while Palcic will report to both coach URBAN MEYER and GM TRENT BAALKE. Baalke also announced "newly created positions within the scouting and football administration departments." TOM GAMBLE and MICHAEL DAVIS were "hired as senior personnel executives." RYAN STAMPER was hired as Dir of Player Assessment and TRIP MACCRACKEN as Dir of Roster Management. Baalke also hired DREW HUGHES to become Player Personnel Coordinator. Baalke served as Dir of Player Personnel last year. This past Friday, the Jaguars announced that KARIM KASSAM was hired as the team’s Senior VP/Football Operations Strategy. Kassam most recently served as Twins Dir of Baseball Research. Meanwhile, Jaguars VP/Football Administration & Technology TONY KHAN was "promoted to a newly created position" as Chief Football Strategy Officer. Kassam will report to him (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 2/25).
