CSE Forms Strategic Relationship With Hollywood Agency Buchwald

CSE, a sports talent representation firm, and Buchwald, a Hollywood agency, have formed a strategic alliance to work together to develop projects for entertainment and media platforms including film, TV, and podcasting for CSE's sports clients. Financial details were not disclosed. CSE President Danny Martoe told THE DAILY, "There is no merger. There is no acquisition. There is no equity play. It's a strategic alliance." CSE reps more than 400 athletes, coaches and sports personalities, but specializes in NBA and college basketball coaches, as well as broadcasters. Clients include Fox' John Smoltz, Turner Sports' Ernie Johnson Jr., CBS' Clark Kellogg, Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce and Clippers coach Tyronn Lue. The partnership will give Buchwald access to sports talent and CSE clients access to resources to develop original content. "They represent a lot of top-tier producers," Martoe said. "After the success that 'The Last Dance' had ... there has been an insatiable desire for that kind of content. So we see a big opportunity in that space."
